Tech News: Sony 4K UHD World Cup 2014 Exclusive

FIFA sponsor Sony will be streaming highlights package after selected World Cup matches directly to our showroom on the KD65X9005B in Rawtenstall and KD55X9005B in Bolton.

Both stores currently have demonstration material from last years confederations cup in 4K UHD and now we will be able to show highlights packages of this years tournament. It is not quite live 4K footage but we are eager to see how it will look in this years Sony televisions.

Only last week news broke out that the BBC are conducting live 4K broadcasts of the 2014 Fifa World Cup to head offices in London and MediaCity near Manchester. Last month Sky provided its first demonstration of a 4K broadcast from a Premier League football match. To think in 1970 the World Cup in Mexico was famous for being the first ever broadcast of colour for a World Cup tournament. However the footage had to be flown to the BBC in London to be broadcast at a later date.

Eleven of the 2014 Fifa World Cup matches will be given the 4K highlights treatment in our stores, covering five of the world cup stadiums. Key matches include Cameroon vs. Brazil on 23rd June, the 28th June will see the Last 16 game for the group winners of England’s Group D game as well as two quarter finals, one semi-final and the Final in Rio on 13th July.

Head over to our Bolton outlet on Halliwell Road to see this exclusive content on the KD55X9005 or head over to the Rawtenstall branch on Bank St. to see demonstrations on the KD65X9005B.

Both stores currently offer 5 Year Guarantee, Free Delivery and 0% Buy Now Pay Later as a payment option. Given that 4K UHD source material is now starting to become more readily available, what better time to enjoy the World Cup than with an incredible 4K television with excellent up-scaling capabilities.
