Pros

  • Portable
  • Comes with a cup
  • Easy to follow instruction manual
  • Small and efficient
  • Pack it in your backpack

Cons

  • Needs external boiling water
  • Possibility of leaking
  • Only produces one shot of espresso

The Wacaco Minipresso Portable Espresso Maker provides the greatest level of simplicity and is one of the newer appliances on the market. If you are looking for a travel alternative that does not require the hassle of ground coffee, this portable device is the perfect solution for you.

This espresso maker is ideal for those who enjoy coffee wherever they are. It offers a beautiful espresso shot with a thick layer of crema. This is the most durable and eco-friendly espresso maker from the Wacaco range and is worth every penny.

It includes a cleaning brush and a carry bag, so it is easy to take wherever you go.

In my opinion, I think that this Espresso Maker is great value for money and can be used in a range of different environments, such as at work in your office, at home and on the go.

The Wacaco Minipresso Portable Espresso Maker is aesthetically pleasing with small features. It has been designed to be small in size so that it is beneficial for those who drink coffee consistently.

However, to use this Espresso Maker, you need to have boiling water to allow a delicious tasting espresso to be made; this can cause inconvenience for people as you may not always have access to boiling water.

Another downfall of the Wacaco Portable Espresso Maker is that many people enjoy a range of different styles of coffee; however, this maker only provides one shot of espresso. This is not something to be put off by, because with a bit of milk, the perfect latte or cappuccino can be created.

Here is out Video Review of the Wacaco Minipress NS

Design and Features of the Wacaco Minipresso Portable Espresso Maker

  • The Minipresso maker does not need a battery or electricity to work. It is the most eco-friendly espresso maker that Wacaco has to offer. This maker extracts delicious espresso with a generous layer of crema with just a few pumps of the piston.

This maker is your best choice to quickly and efficiently enjoy delicious espresso wherever you are. Your espresso looks great and tastes fantastic every time.
  • Aesthetically pleasing, with a finished look of black stainless steel and a convenient small carry bag, allowing you to take it wherever
  • Convenient, allowing you to enjoy an espresso in any environment by following an easy-to-read instruction manual. It is mess-free and is also easy to clean after use – this portable espresso maker also comes with a cleaning brush.
  • The Wacaco Portable Espresso maker uses Nespresso capsules to prepare and create delicious-tasting espresso; these capsules are ideal due to them having the correct measurements of coffee grounds, creating next to no error in making the perfect espresso shot.
  • Other accessories, such as protective carry cases, are available to buy on Amazon to reduce any damage if dropped

How the Wacaco Minipresso Portable Espresso Maker works

The Wacaco Minipresso Portable Espresso Maker works by adding boiling water to the max fill line of the water chamber – this is approximately 70ml. When adding the boiling water, ensure you do not go past the max fill line provided, as this could cause spillage and you may get burnt.

You then place a compatible pod in the pod chamber, which you will find at the top of the maker. This section is labelled and also has a warning due to there being sharp edges inside to allow the pod to be cut open.

When you have placed your pod in the chamber, ensure that the foil side is facing upwards and tightly screw the top back on; this will then pierce the pod.

It is now time to create your espresso! Flip the piston open by gently twisting it following the unlock arrows. Build pressure by steadily and consistently pumping the piston. You need to be doing this for approximately 30 seconds until there is no espresso left.

Once you do this, you can enjoy the espresso straight or add your preferred milk.

This Wacaco Minipresso Portable Espresso Maker is ideal for those who enjoy a quick coffee no matter their environment, it is easy to use as well as easy to clean.

How does the Wacaco Minipresso compare against other brands?

I have decided to compare the Wacaco to the Staresso mini coffee maker as they are similar in use. The major difference is the price though, as the Wacaco costs around £50 and the Staresso £83.00.

The Staresso, granted, does come with a very nice carry case, whilst the Wacaco is protected only by a material case; but, for value for money, I would have to say that the Wacaco is definitely worth the money and was around my budget for a portable coffee maker.

The Staresso mini coffee machine produces excellent coffee and is very simple to use and clean. Having used this at a dinner party to make espresso martinis, they were delicious, very simple and mess-free with this mini portable maker.

For the price, I would expect this machine to do a little more as it’s expensive compared to the Wacaco.

Other models of the Wacaco Portable Espresso Makers

Another model of the Wacaco Portable Espresso Makers is the Wacaco Nanopresso Portable Espresso Maker, an upgraded Version of the Minipresso. The Nanopresso works best with finely ground coffee, whereas the Minipresso works best with compatible pods.
